In tough economic times, stay focused! By Shawn T. Kiley
Well, here we go again. The media is drumming into the brains of most Americans that we are either in or quickly headed toward a recession. Gas prices keep climbing, our grocery bills are creeping up, the sub-prime lending crises is at an all time high.. If one chooses to focus on the negatives of todays economy, it would be easy to get discouraged.
The problem here is that with a discouraged mindset, we tend to be less productive, less intuitive and imaginative and more likely to script a bad month of sales or poor quartlery earnings. Worse yet, if we are in management, and our discouragement is picked up on by our employees, this can really drag morale down.
Now is the time to keep your focus razor sharp on your objectives. People arent necessarily spending less money, theyre just being more selective about the way they are spending their money. Thats where your unique talents and the talents of your staff come in. Exceptional, legendary customer service, listening to customer feedback, proper training, and, of course, a mystery shopping program from Aloha Solutions are mandatory during seemingly tough times.
